Cycling components brand

A Tour de France handlebar started as a 3D print.

Before it raced the Tour and UCI competition, a carbon time-trial bar was tested with its rider as an OperGo 3D print.

Processes used

The fit was tested before the carbon was made.

The brief

A bar to test with the rider

The brand needed to check the bar’s fit with its rider before the final part was made.

The approach

3D-printed, with threaded inserts

OperGo printed the bar by Multi Jet Fusion, with brass threaded inserts in its mounting boss.

The result

Carbon, once the fit was proven

The final bar was made in carbon fiber, and raced at the Tour de France, the Giro d’Italia and across UCI competition.

Threaded inserts

Brass inserts in the mounting boss of the print, so the bar could be fitted for the test.

The print, and the bar it became.

OperGo made the print. The carbon bar is the brand’s own final part.
