We make parts like these.
Stainless 304 · bentOne drawing
One price per part covers the cut, bend, weld and finish.
We specify all four steps together and coordinate them from the first cut to the finish.

Sheet metal bending, defined
Sheet metal bending (press-brake forming) folds a flat, laser-cut blank into a 3D part between a punch and a die — the process behind enclosures, brackets, guards and panels. The blank and the bend are specified together, so they run as one job.

What you send, and what you get back.

Your 3D model (STEP) and the 2D PDF drawing
The model gives the geometry; the drawing carries what the model cannot say: material, thickness, bends, finish and quantity.
A price per part, in 24–48 hours
With the unit price and the lead time of every part, with its finishing and assembly in the same order.

Questions
Questions about sheet metal
What's included in a sheet metal quote — just cutting and bending?
No — cutting, bending, welding, hardware (PEM inserts, studs, threaded fasteners) and finish are specified and priced together, against the same drawing. You get one part, one lead time and one invoice, not a chain of vendors to coordinate yourself.
What drives the cost of a sheet metal part?
The material and its thickness, the size of the flat blank, the number of bends, the quantity and, if you ask for them, welding, hardware and finish. Bend radius, flange length and hole-to-bend distance decide how many setups a part takes, so a drawing designed for fewer setups costs less.
What tolerances can you hold on a laser-cut and bent part?
Cut tolerance is typically ±0.1 mm on most gauges. Bend tolerance is typically ±0.5–1° angular and roughly ±0.15 mm on flange length — standard for laser cutting and press-brake forming across the industry, confirmed against your exact geometry at quoting.
What is the minimum bend radius?
It depends on the material and its thickness, and we tell you at quoting. If a bend can’t be formed as drawn, we tell you the change it needs before anything is made.
What files do I need to send?
The 3D model of the part as a STEP file and a 2D PDF drawing with the material, thickness, bends, finish and quantity.
How long does a quote take, and how long does the part take?
The quote takes 24–48 hours: a price per part from your STEP model and 2D PDF drawing. The lead time of each part depends on the gauge, the finish and the batch, and your quote states it for each line.
What's the minimum order quantity?
There's no fixed minimum — price is what naturally limits very small orders, not a policy. A single bent bracket gets quoted the same way a batch of a thousand does.
Can I order the same part in several finishes?
Yes — and each finish becomes its own reference. The base part is drawn and quoted once; every color or coating you add is a variant with its own code, price and stock, so reordering the black one never means re-explaining the part. See Variants & finishes under capabilities.
Which sheet metals can you bend, and which only cut?
Steel, stainless and aluminum 1050, 3003, 5052 and 5754 bend cleanly. 6061-T6 is prone to cracking along the bend line, so bent parts use 5052-H32 or 5754-H111 and 6061-T6 runs cut-only, as flat plates or brackets that bolt together. Copper C110 and brass C260 cut up to 3 mm on a high-power fiber laser; bending is limited on the harder tempers, which we flag if your geometry calls for it.
Do you also bend tube, and what if sheet metal is not the right process?
Tube is a separate capability: round and square tube is curved around a die on a CNC tube bender, see Tube Bending under capabilities. If a part mixes the two, we quote both halves together. If sheet metal is not the right process, because the part needs a machined pocket, a tapped hole a flat blank can’t provide, or a volume where a molded part would be cheaper, we say so at quoting and requote it under the right process.
